Exploration stage · Western Cape Basin, Ghana
An early position in Ghana’s next oil and gas frontier.
Tano Petroleum is a Ghanaian-owned exploration company advancing a contiguous onshore licence area towards appraisal drilling — using non-invasive subsurface imaging and AI-assisted geoscience to de-risk targets first.

Overview
Exploration first. Then appraisal. Then production.
Tano Petroleum is pre-drilling. Our work today is about proving the subsurface case with modern, low-impact technology so that every dollar spent afterwards is spent on a target we understand.

The opportunity
A single, contiguous onshore licence area in Ghana's Western Cape Basin — one of West Africa's most productive petroleum systems.

Our technology
Non-invasive subsurface imaging, airborne geophysics and AI-assisted interpretation used to de-risk targets before a single well is drilled.

Phased roadmap
From survey and data acquisition, through appraisal drilling, to production and — over the long term — domestic downstream processing.

Technology
De-risking the subsurface before the drill bit
Nuclear magnetic resonance, resistivity profiling, airborne geophysics and machine-learning interpretation are combined into one subsurface model — so prospects are ranked on converging evidence, not a single survey.
Why Tano
What makes this position different
Proven petroleum province
Our acreage sits within Ghana's Western Cape Basin, the same proven petroleum system that hosts the country's producing fields.
Contiguous onshore acreage
A single, contiguous onshore licence area allows a staged, lower-cost work programme with land access and logistics under our own control.
Evidence before drilling
Multi-physics surveys, geochemistry and fluid sampling are completed and integrated before capital is committed to a well.
Stable jurisdiction
Ghana has a mature petroleum regulatory framework, an established local service base and a long record of international partnership.
Ghanaian-owned, globally advised
A wholly Ghanaian-owned company working with an established London-based technical partner on survey design and interpretation.
Clear investor entry point
Capital is being raised against a defined, phased work programme with measurable technical milestones at each stage.
Roadmap
Three phases to first production
Phase 1 — current
Exploration & data acquisition
High-resolution airborne and ground surveys across the licence area, fluid and surface geochemistry sampling, and integrated interpretation to build a ranked inventory of drillable prospects.
Phase 2 — next
Appraisal drilling & evaluation
Drilling of appraisal wells on the highest-ranked structures, followed by logging, well testing and independent resource evaluation to move volumes towards commercial classification.
Phase 3 — long term
Production & downstream ambition
Development of commercial discoveries, followed over time by domestic value addition — processing, gas utilisation and distribution — so more of the value chain stays in-country.
